Earth Cinema Circle Filmmakers Info
At Earth Cinema Circle we believe that film is an important, even an essential, tool to educate people about the environmental challenges we all face. We also recognize film has a unique ability to entertain and enthrall people about the wonder and mystery of the natural world, and that in turn is an essential step inspiring them to get involved in protecting it.
Our mission at Earth Cinema Circle is to provide environmental films that educate, entertain and inspire action that makes a difference. The only way we can achieve that is through partnerships with you, the independent filmmakers who create films that make a difference.
We are looking for both short and full-length films in the genres of:
- Wildlife
- Conservation
- Environmentally-conscious adventure
- Environmental challenges and solutions
- People making a positive difference to our planet
- Adventurous eco-travel
On every DVD we provide our subscribers, we have a mix of films on these subjects. Each selection has one film that is an full-length—an hour or more—and usually one or two that are a half-hour, and a few short-length films. Each selection has at least one film on wildlife or natural history, as this is a perennial favorite. We are looking for films about adventure, but not “man conquers nature”, but rather adventures that celebrate the beauty of the wild world. We like films that explore environmental challenges, and we like them even more if they show our subscribers possible solutions to those challenges. Our subscribers also love films about individuals or small groups of people working to solve a problem or find a solution; films about Davids tackling the Goliaths, and through tenacity and dedication, winning their battles.
I’ve been directing and producing films on outdoor subjects for 30 years, and I know how difficult it is to find distribution. So it’s personally satisfying to provide an additional audience beyond film festivals for the films that so often deserve to be seen.
Thank you for your interest in Earth Cinema Circle.
